We have a conflict concerning the Iraq war which is on the one hand we have the Democrats saying we need to get out of there as soon as possible and on the other hand we have people saying that if we do not stay the course we will surely be fighting these fanatics here on our own soil. Whether we like it or not it is better we fight them there than fighting them here. No matter how hard we try to put on the blinders our getting out of Iraq is only going to postpone the conflict until it happens on our shores again. The thing that we have to face up to is that this is clash between religious philosophies or ideologies and we as a nation cannot live under strict Islamic life because our free American spirit will not let us do that as we cherish our freedoms too much. Live free or die trying.........

The Democratic Party is trying to figure out how to lose this Iraq war and doing so in such a way that it will not get them in trouble with the American people. They have become the defeatist party for instead of sticking to the end they are cutting and trying to run. We as Americans were always known for our stick-to-it ability but the Democrats have taught us a new way-stick to it until the going gets rough and then turn tail and run. Remember we can only run so far before we will have to make a stand or are we surrender completely to the terriorists. As a veteran, I am ashamed of the Democratic Party of Roosevelt, Kennedy, etc. for they would have stood up to these enemy forces until they were vanquished. Have we lost the spirit that made this country great with our sacrifices or have we become the people who want peace at any price even if it means defeat? ..........

With the passage of their resolution the Democrats are trying to assume the role of Commander in Chief from the Predient. No where in the Constitution do I see where we have more than one Commander in Chief and that is the Presdent yet Congress is trying to take that constitutional guarantee from him and micro managethe war itelf. To quote an old country saying, Too many cooks spoil the broth. You think things were fouled up before wait until Congress tries to run this war. It will be a disaster...........

As a veteran, the Democrats action in trying to stop the increase in troops in Iraq is a direct slap in the face of the soldiers fighting this war. No matter how they try to show it, their action is saying to our troops we do not care whether we put you in an increased dangerous way for our agenda is more important than any soldiers life. I sometimes wonder whether they have ever read the American history and seen the sacrifices that veterans have made in making this country great. Politics is more important than soldiers lives--what a stupid self serving creed our politicians have evolved and God help our country. We risked and gave our lives so we could let stupid people like this run our country----as you sew shall you reap..........

As an independent voter I say we should ignore all of this political posturing by Presidential candidates until next year when the primaries and actual voting takes place. By ignoring them perhaps they will tone down their rhetoric and give our hearing a rest. Besides does anyone really care what people are saying this year during these campaigns. Also we will be bombarded enough next year so how about giving us a break this year candidates, PLEASE.............
